Don Arnold Dean, 65, of Elkton, passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at his home. Don was born August 1, 1959, in Harrisonburg and was the son of Margie Marie Shifflett Dean of Elkton and the late Arnold Cleveland Dean.

Don grew up in Elkton and was a 1977 graduate of Elkton High School. Music was his passion and began playing at an early age, the upright bass, mandolin, banjo and guitar. His Band, “Vintage Bluegrass” was founded in 1983 and performed at many events around the area for many years. Don loved to camp, spending lots of weekends at Shenandoah Acres. He was a member of the South River Hunt Club and loved hunting and fishing. He was a member of Eagles Wings Church in Elkton, and worked at AMP, Shank Wholesalers and was currently the manager at J. Rex Burner Plumbing & Heating.

In addition to his mother, Don is survived by his wife, Jennifer Renee Jenkins Dean; daughters, Michelle Dean Flaherty and husband, Ryan, Jessica Dean Key and husband, J.W., and Kimberly Dean and husband, Anthony; a brother, Allen Dean and wife, Pam; grandchildren, Briella Key, Callum Key, Justine Rose Key, Jaxson Dean, and twins, Cooper and Cameron Dean; step-grandson, Austin Dean, as well as his dog, “Sophie”.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, October 4, 2024, at the Kyger Funeral Home Chapel in Elkton. Friends are welcome at the Dean home at any time.
