HARRISONBURG, Va – (Rocktown Now) The Harrisonburg woman who was charged with calling in a fake bomb threat at a department store earlier this month was supposed to make her first court appearance Monday afternoon.

However, online records showed that the hearing for 19-year-old Riley Mercado was continued until April 24th in General District Court.

City officials said that Mercado admitted to police that she reported the fake threat at the Kohl’s on East Market Street on the night of March 4th.

The teen is facing one misdemeanor count of using profane, threatening, or indecent language over public airways.

She was released on a written summons following her arrest.
