Curtis Worfield Breeden, 92, of McGaheysville, passed away, Friday, May 3, 2024, at Sentara RMH Medical Center in Harrisonburg.
Mr. Breeden was born March 23, 1932, in Rockingham County, and was the son of the late, Raymond and Frances Hensley Breeden. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Viands Breeden; a daughter, Enola Marshall, as well as three brothers, William “Billy”, Rudolph and Eugene Breeden.
Curtis retired as a maintenance mechanic in the manufacturing industry. He spent his time in retirement raising peacocks, parrots, chickens and cattle. He also enjoyed tinkering and working on things around the house.
He is survived by two sons, Curtis Breeden and wife, Syvilla, and James Breeden; grandchildren, Michael Breeden, Jonathan Marshall, Amy Hill, Wesley Breeden, Travis Breeden and Jenna Reid, as well as nine great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Friday, May 10, 2024, at Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg, with Pastor Carter Dean officiating. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens.
