Curtis William McMillen, 84, of Elkton, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born November 19, 1939, in Rockingham County and was a son of the late Harry William and Arlene Amanda Lam McMillen.
Curtis was many things to those he leaves here on this earth. A dad, granddad, great-granddad, brother, uncle and friend. He graduated from Elkton High School in 1958. He was a skilled carpenter, helping to build many houses and businesses throughout Elkton and surrounding areas before his retirement. He could fix anything. After his retirement, his greatest joy was visiting with area churches and the Bluegrass Jam at the Elkton Community Center to share his love for the Lord through the songs he sang. One of his favorite songs to sing and often requested was “One Drop of Water”. Many will miss seeing him drive around Elkton in his 1972 green Valiant. He was a man of strength and determination, even after being dealt many health obstacles. He adored his family; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They brought him so much happiness. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by sons, Wade McMillen and wife, Tammy, Aaron McMillen and wife, Wendy; grandchildren, Brittany McMillen, Courtney McMillen and fiancé, Chris Shifflett, Heather Stoddard and husband, Brian, Danielle Collier and husband, John, Ryan McMillen and girlfriend, Laney Martin; great-grandchildren, Ariana McMillen, Leah Shifflett, Christian Shifflett, Landon Stoddard, Blake Stoddard and girlfriend, Makenna Eppard, MacKenzie Collier, Journey Collier, Sophia Collier, Kori-Anne Collier and Willow Collier; brother, Charles McMillen; sisters, Mary Hensley, Virginia Carr, Doris Williams and husband, Ronnie, Barbara Hart, Dianna McMillen and Frances Parker.
