Traffic signals will be activated on South Main Street at Kaylor Park Drive beginning Monday. In a social media post from the Harrisonburg Public Works Department, traffic lights will be set to a flash condition to help make travelers along this corridor aware of the new signal around the Miracle Car Wash and Rocktown High School.
In addition to the new traffic signal, the city conducted a speed study along the corridor and results showed it would be appropriate for the speed limit on South Main Street from Mosby Road to Reedy Circle be adjusted from 45mph to 40mph for increased safety.
The project will require placement of new road markings on South Main Street at Kaylor Park Drive. This work will take place daily for approximately 2-3 weeks until it is completed.
