STAUNTON, VA (Rocktown Now) — UPDATE: Phone lines were back to normal this afternoon.

Crews are working to repair a broken water line in Staunton that closed Middlebrook Avenue between Bridge Street and West Hampton Street earlier today.
While water has been shut off to the busted pipe to allow workers to begin digging in the area, City Manager Josh Knight says residents should be relatively unaffected.
“At this point they don’t think anybody is without water,” said Knight. “Some residents may experience low pressure. They’re hoping to have this all wrapped up in the next several hours.”
As repairs continue, Knight recommends drivers entering the city to take Bridge Street North and then cross over onto Johnson Street to come back down into downtown.
Middlebrook Avenue is expected to reopen later this afternoon.
