DAYTON, VA (Rocktown Now) – Virginia State Police and the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a crash that left the Dayton area without power for several hours.
Police say at around 12:30am on Saturday, July 5, a driver fled from officers after an incident occurred in Rockingham County.
The driver came into the Town of Dayton, crashed into a power pole, and then fled on foot.
After an extensive search by Dayton Police, Rockingham County Deputies, Virginia State Police, and Harrisonburg Police, the suspect was not located.
However, police say the area is safe.
The investigations are ongoing.
