HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Shenandoah Valley Bicycle Coalition (The Coalition) announced Cranksgiving Shenandoah Valley happening Saturday, November 22 from 1:00–4:00 PM at Feel the Rain Brothers Brewing.
According to a release, Cranksgiving is part bike ride, part food drive, and part scavenger hunt — a nationwide tradition where bicyclists ride to local grocery stores to purchase food items for donation. This year’s ride will benefit the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank.
“Cranksgiving is proof that giving back doesn’t have to be quiet or conventional,” says Amanda Presgraves, event organizer and SVBC member. “It’s a ride with grit and gratitude — where riders of all kinds come together to pedal, play, and make a tangible impact.”
The cost is free, participants can bring cash or cards to buy non-perishable items.
Participants will receive a list of needed food items and local grocery stops. Riders can go solo or in teams, then return to the brewery by 4 PM for celebration, prizes, and post-ride festivities.
Registration is open now at Shenandoah Valley Bicycle Coalition (SVBC).
