ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — It is 30 years in prison for the Clover Hill man who admitted to murdering a man back in 2021.

Tanner Allen Hartman was sentenced to 40 years in prison during a hearing Tuesday in Rockingham County Circuit Court. However, 10 of those years were suspended. He was also forced to pay over seven thousand dollars in restitution and costs.

The 23-year-old Hartman pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in January of 2024 in connection with the shooting death of 46-year-old Chad Anthony Mines during an incident on Whitmore Shop Road just before daybreak on May 12th, 2021.
