No. 3 seed Clover Hill won game one of the Rockingham County Baseball League Championship Series Sunday night at top-seeded Bridgewater, 4-2.
Bryce Suters, Alex Knicely and Drew Easter drove in one run each, while Reid Long earned the win on the mound. Long went 6.2 innings and he allowed one unearned run on eight hits, and he struck out six and didn’t walk a batter.
Chris Huffman led the Reds with three hits, while Corbin Lucas, Grey Sherfey and Cam Herron added two hits each. Bridgewater had 10 hits, and they left 13 men on base in the loss.
Huffman, the 2024 RCBL MVP and Pitcher of the Year, suffered his first loss on the mound. He gave up two earned runs on five hits in seven innings, and he struck out eight.
