HARRISONBURG, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – The City of Harrisonburg says it is looking to hire several elections officers to make sure things run smoothly on November 5.
In a social media post, the city announced that legal citizens of Virginia are eligible to apply for these poll worker positions.
They must also be at least 18 years old – and if the applicant has lost voting privileges because of a felony or mental incapacity, those rights must have been restored by the state.
Elections officers will have to take an oath with the General Registrar’s office. Anyone interested is asked to fill out an application at City Hall.
Correction: An earlier version of this story mistakenly reported that Election Day will be on November 4. It will actually be on November 5 this year. Rocktown Now and WSVA News regret the error.
