Christopher Allen “Buck” Kyger, 50, of Bridgewater, Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Sentara RMH Medical Center with family by his side.
Buck was born September 3, 1974, in Harrisonburg, and was the son of the late Christopher C. and Shirley Ann Burkett Kyger. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Tammie Shifflett and Debbie Huffman.
Buck graduated from Turner Ashby High School and Massanutten Technical School in 1992. He held perfect attendance throughout all of his school years. He began a career in HVAC and sheet metal and worked in Knoxville, Tennessee from 2000 to 2011. Upon his return to the Valley, he was employed with Riddleberger Brothers and Dayton Walmart. He enjoyed traveling, being outdoors, camping, canning, hunting and fishing. He loved cooking, especially for others. His greatest passion was studying his Bible.
Surviving are his wife, Cindy Lynn Kyger; three daughters, Amber Kyger and partner, Dalton, Adrianna Shifflett and husband, Danny, and Bridgette Garcia and fiancé, John; a sister, Vickie Shifflett and husband, E.G.; brothers-in-law, Rowdy Huffman and Charlie Shifflett and partner, Sharon; three grandchildren, Addysyn Ritchie, Ella Grace Shifflett, and Bentleigh Shifflett; three nephews, Danny, Allen, and Josh; four nieces, April, Tabatha, Ashley, Brandi, and Samantha; four great-nephews, Jaxon, Landon, Reed, and Christopher, as well as five great-nieces, Chloe, Tamera, Hayleigh, Aubrey, and Ryleigh.
A memorial gathering will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg.
