Charlotte (Peggy) Rhodes Spangler, 101, died Monday, October 21, at Shenandoah Valley Westminster-Canterbury in Winchester, Virginia.

Mrs. Spangler was born November 8, 1922 in Rockingham County, Virginia and was married to Samuel George Spangler.

Mrs. Spangler was preceded in death by Mr. Spangler, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Minor G. Rhodes, and two brothers, Minor G. Rhodes, Jr. and James E. Rhodes.

She is survived by her children, Carolyn S. Lewis (David) of Winchester, Virginia, Samuel G. Spangler, III (Lynn) of Scottsville, Virginia, Margaret Sue S. Jamison (C.O.), of Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia, Janie S. Craig of Tucson, Arizona, and Barbara R. Spangler of Arlington, Virginia. She is also survived by six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Mrs. Spangler attended Mt. Clinton High School in Rockingham County and Madison College in Harrisonburg. She was a member of Cooks Creek Presbyterian Church in Rockingham County, the Fredericksburg Presbyterian Church and the Spotsylvania Presbyterian Church.

A graveside service will be held Monday, October 28 at 11:00 am, at Woodbine Cemetery in Harrisonburg. A celebration of life will occur on Tuesday, October 29 at 2:00 pm, in the chapel at Shenandoah Valley Westminster Canterbury.
