HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Central Shenandoah Health District is hosting a free clinic in Harrisonburg on Tuesday, May 21, where folks can get tested for sexually transmitted infections.
The district is operating a “Test & Go” clinic for the summer from 4:30 until 6 p.m. at the Harrisonburg Rockingham Health Department that will be held every third Tuesday for the rest of the summer through August.
District Senior Nurse Manager Marsha Rodeffer explained that testing will be offered for diseases like HIV, syphilis, and hepatitis B and C.
She adds that no appointment is necessary.
Incidentally, routine STI testing and treatment are always available at the Harrisonburg, Staunton and Waynesboro Health Departments.

Correction, as of May 21: An earlier version of this story reported that the Central Shenandoah Health District’s free STI clinic on Tuesday May 21, is the final such event scheduled for the summer. It will actually take place every third Tuesday for the rest of the summer through August. The story has been corrected, and Rocktown Now regrets the error.
