HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) –The Central Shenandoah Valley Master Gardener Association is inviting the community to join the fun at Dog Days of Summer happening Saturday, July 19, from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Harrisonburg Farmers Market at Turner Pavilion.
The event will feature a dog show, complete with clever tricks and high canine fashion. Registration begins at 9:30 AM at the Master Gardener tent in the overflow area behind the Pavilion, and judging kicks off at 10:00 AM, followed by awards and a parade through the Market. Costumes are encouraged but not required.
The Rockingham Harrisonburg SPCA will be on site with information about adoptable pets and ways to support their important work. Whether you’re ready to adopt or just want a dose of puppy love, this is your chance to meet some very good boys and girls.
Thistle Hill Pet Treats will be on site with artisan treats and pet fashion accessories like bandanas and bowties.
The Master Gardener Association will also have a tent where you can learn about dog-themed plants.
Market Pet Policy Reminder:
● Service animals are always welcome
● Leashes must be 6 feet or shorter
● Only bring socialized pets
● Clean up after your animals
● Pets must not touch any food or merchandise
● Pets are not allowed behind vendor booths or in the restricted vendor area
● Owners are responsible for any damages or contaminated products
Market hours:
● Spring/Summer/Fall Market: Tuesdays & Saturdays 8 am to 1 pm (April – Thanksgiving)
● Sunset Market: Every third Thursday 5 pm to 8 pm (June – September)
● Holiday Market: First 3 Saturdays in December 9 am to 12pm
● Winter Market: Saturdays 9 am to 1 pm (January – March)
