SHENANDOAH COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — Shenandoah County Sheriff Tim Carter announced that Deputy Chief of Training, Courtney Cave, has been selected as the 2026 Virginia Chief Officer Academy Incident Commander.
She is the first woman ever to hold that prestigious position.
The Virginia Chief Officer Academy is a statewide leadership development program designed to prepare current and future fire service leaders for executive-level roles.
Carter stated that her selection as Incident Commander is a testament to her tireless work ethic, leadership and commitment to giving back to the fire service family.
