Carroll “Sue” Garber, 87, of Harrisonburg, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at Sunnyside Retirement Community.

Mrs. Garber was born March 8, 1937, in Roanoke, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Clyde Lewis and Leona May Ridgeway Sink. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Hamilton Garber, who passed away on December 24, 2011.

Sue earned her M.Ed. from Madison College in 1972. She was a kindergarten teacher for 28 years with Harrisonburg Public Schools at Waterman, Keister and Spotswood Elementary Schools. In 1979, Sue began a second career in real estate and worked with Old Dominion Reality until 2011.

Surviving are two sons, Scot H. Garber of Harrisonburg and Tyler H. Garber of Pagosa Springs, Colorado; former daughter-in-law, Kimberly B. Garber, as well as two grandchildren, Taylor Garber and husband, Garrett Nichols of Nashville and Treigh Garber of Harrisonburg.

The family will commemorate her life privately and interment will be at Shady Grove Cemetery in Port Republic.
