Carolyn Daugherty Combs, 84, of Mathias, WV passed away September 11, 2024, at her daughter’s residence.

She was born July 24, 1940, in Mathias to the late Raymond Preston, Sr. and Lacey Lane Jenkins Daugherty.

Carolyn was a homemaker.  She was a member of Jenkins Chapel United Methodist Church in Mathias where she served as lay speaker and held numerous positions.   She sang in the Daugherty Sisters Gospel Group.

On January 26, 1972, she married Arnold Ray Combs, who preceded her in death October 6, 2018.

Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Tiffany Munn Tucker and husband Phillip of West Augusta, VA; grandchildren, Gabriel Ray Munn, Danielle Kay Strother and spouse Ebonee; great granddaughter, Salem Jane Strother; sisters, Catherine Willingham, Connie Wood, Ramona Daugherty; brother, Raymond Daughterty, Jr.; brothers-in-law, Ernie Combs, Donald Slonaker, Allen Wood; sisters-in-law, Shirley Combs, Pat Daugherty; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rev. Robert Oakley will conduct a funeral service 1:00 PM Tuesday at Jenkins Chapel United Methodist Church.  Burial will be in the Jenkins Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM Monday at Grandle  Funeral Home in Broadway.  Friends may begin viewing Monday at 9 AM.
