Carole Marie “Jackie” Life, 84, of Elkton, passed away on Monday, February 26, 2024 at Brookdale of Staunton.

 

Mrs. Life was born on January 4, 1940 in Rockingham County and was a daughter of the late Lynwood and Frances (Hensley) Sandridge. Jackie retired from Rockingham County where she worked as a clerk for many years. She was a longtime and active member of the Mt. Olivet Christian Church in McGaheysville. Mrs. Life enjoyed crafting. Her greatest enjoyment came from cooking for her family.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Winston Leroy Life on September 18, 2012.

 

Mrs. Life is survived by her children, Stuart Oakes, Sr. and wife, Claraesa of Elkton, Daniel S. Oakes and wife, Robin of North Carolina, Tina M. Liggett and husband, Larry of Spokane, WA; a sister, Delois Peterson of Illinois; ten grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
