HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) – UPDATE (12/30): Original reports indicated that shortly before 10 am, authorities were alerted to an out-of-state white Toyota Sienna in the Home Depot parking lot on Burgess Road thought to be stolen.

Police Captain Chris Monahan now reports that the vehicle turned out to not be stolen but had an alert due to the occupants being wanted on charges related to various alleged criminal activities.

After officers initiated an encounter with the occupants, Monahan says 3 out of 4 of the individuals were transported to Rockingham-Harrisonburg Regional Jail.

Officers are still actively working on the case.

Multiple individuals were taken into custody today after a stolen vehicle was located in Harrisonburg.

Police Spokesperson Juliana McGrath reports that shortly before 10 o’clock Monday (12/29) morning, authorities discovered an out-of-state white Toyota Sienna in the Home Depot parking lot on Burgess Road.

“Our officers made contact in the parking lot with a vehicle that was stolen out of Pennsylvania,” McGrath said. “They were able to recover the stolen vehicle and take the suspects into custody.”

McGrath added that the four suspects, also from Pennsylvania, were arrested without incident and taken to Rockingham-Harrisonburg Regional Jail.

The investigation is ongoing.
