HARRISONBURG VA (Rocktown Now) — The Harrisonburg Police Department is proud to announce that Captain Charles Grubbs has successfully graduated from the highly respected Senior Management Institute for Police (SMIP), a program hosted by the Police Executive Research Forum (PERF).
Captain Grubbs now joins a select group of law enforcement leaders from across the country who have completed this intensive three-week course, held at Boston University.
The SMIP program is designed for mid- to executive-level police professionals and focuses on developing the critical thinking and leadership skills necessary for effective police management in a changing and complex environment.
Throughout the program, Captain Grubbs engaged in coursework led by faculty from some of the nation’s top graduate programs in business and public administration.
“Captain Grubbs is bringing back invaluable information and skills in organizational change, ethical decision-making, data-driven policing, strategic management, and community engagement, all of which will directly benefit the department and Harrisonburg as a whole. Having a member of our command staff with this high-level training is exciting as we continue to ask ourselves how we can better serve the community”, said Interim Chief Rod Pollard.
The Harrisonburg Police Department congratulates Captain Grubbs on this significant achievement and looks forward to the continued contributions he will bring to the organization and the community.
