BROADWAY, VA (Rocktown Now) — Broadway High School has announced that Jesse Lohr will serve as the new Head Football Coach for the Gobblers, beginning with the 2026 season.
Coach Lohr has more than 25 years of experience in education, coaching, and athletic leadership. He has served as a teacher, head coach, assistant athletic director, and director of student activities. Most recently, Lohr served as Director of Student Activities at Riverbend High School in Spotsylvania County. Prior to that, he spent more than 20 years at Orange County High School as a Physical Education and Driver’s Education teacher, Assistant Athletic Director, and Head Varsity Football Coach, where he successfully turned the program around. Lohr has also served as a head coach in basketball, baseball, and softball.
“Football is a proud tradition at Broadway High School, and Coach Lohr understands what it takes to build a program our community can rally behind,” said Athletic Director Dale Shifflett. “He is a strong leader who puts students first. We are excited to welcome him to Gobbler Nation.”
A graduate of Bridgewater College, Lohr was a multi-sport athlete in high school, competing in football, basketball, and baseball. He has been recognized as District Football Coach of the Year and has earned additional district honors in baseball and softball.
“I am honored for the opportunity to lead the Broadway High School football program,” Lohr said. “Broadway takes great pride in Friday nights, and I’m excited to be part of that tradition. I look forward to building strong relationships with our players, families, and community as we grow a program built on discipline, accountability, and pride.”
