BRIDGEWATER, Va. (BC Athletics) – The Bridgewater College women’s basketball team rolled to a 96-37 victory over Wilson on Sunday night behind five different scorers in double figures.

Final Score: Bridgewater 96, Wilson 37
Records: Bridgewater 7-0, Wilson 2-4

How It Happened
• Jay Garcia opened the game with the first five points of the contest and Bridgewater never looked back. A bucket from Jaden Alsberry and a three-pointer from India Dailey made it 10-0 just over two minutes in. Wilson scored three free throws to get on the board and sparked a short 6-2 Phoenix run before a 14-2 run over the final 4:37 of the frame made it 26-8 after the opening frame.
• Alexis Edmonds drained a three-pointer to open the second quarter and Autumn Gentry followed with a long-range make of her own and a layup to open the quarter on an 8-1 scoring run. Wilson made a pair at the charity stripe, but a make by Rosemary Pierson sparked another draining 9-2 BC run with scores from Regan Maynard and Garcia as well before the first WC field goal of the quarter came with 3:32 to go in the half from dep range to get the gap back under 30 points. Wilson followed that with a layup to get a little momentum, but a 6-2 BC run with all six coming from Alsberry made it 49-20 at the half.
• The teams traded makes out of the intermission before a Dailey three-pointer and a Williams bucket in transition broke the pattern. An old-school three-point play by the Phoenix got the visitors some momentum, but again BC responded with buckets from Garcia and Dailey on consecutive trips to spark a crushing 14-0 run led by five points from Riley Corcoran. Wilson added another three-point play just before the end of the frame, but a three-pointer by Aylin Humpherys at the horn made it 75-30 heading to the fourth.
• Bridgewater opened with the first 11 points of the fourth quarter led by four from My’la Green to make it 86-30 with 7:09 to play. A Wilson score stopped the scoring run before an Abbie Baker two-point jumper sparked a 10-5 BC run over the game’s final six minutes to seal the deal.
