ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — Nine fire and rescue units responded to a vehicular blaze early Tuesday morning in Rockingham County.
According to Bridgewater Volunteer Fire Company, crews from Bridgewater and Weyers Cave responded to a reported tractor trailer fire on the Exit 240 ramp on Interstate 81 this morning just before 1am.
Deputies from Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office had deployed extinguishers before fire and EMS crews arrived at the scene.
Upon fire and rescue crews’ arrival, tires were found on fire at the rear of a vehicle hauling carnival ride equipment.
The fire was soon fully extinguished, and the scene was turned over to Virginia State Police.
