Brenda Kay Ritchie Fansler, 79, of Broadway died September 14, 2024 at her residence.
She was born October 3, 1944 in Harrisonburg to the late Robert Earl, Sr. and Elva Lenora Dellinger Ritchie.
Brenda worked in shipping at R&R Donnelly. She was a member of the AMVETS in Harrisonburg, where she loved to play Bingo, and she would stay and clean afterwards.
On October 26, 1963 she married Richard E. “Dick” Fansler who preceded her in death on August 21, 2023.
Surviving are a son, Jerry Fansler and wife Teresa of Broadway; daughter Julie A. Price of Broadway; grandchildren, Brandon Heishman(Josh), Travis Heishman(Natalie), Shannon Price(Skylar), Robert “Bob” Whetzel(Claire), Bryan Whetzel; great grandchildren, Kloe Whetzel, Laurel Heishman; caretaker, Peggy Sue Hensley, numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert “Earl” Ritchie, Jr., Gary “Snuffy” Ritchie; sister, Phyllis Ritchie; son-in-law, Earl “Jeff” Price, Jr.
Pastor Andy Seastrom will conduct a funeral service 12:00 P.M. Thursday at the Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway. Burial will follow at the Eastlawn Memorial Gardens in Harrisonburg.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-8 P.M. at the Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.
