BROADWAY, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – Virginia State Police have confirmed that they are now investigating the town of Broadway over potential missing funds.
Sergeant Brent Coffey stated in an email to Rocktown Now that State Police investigators are looking into the town’s financial situation but had no further information.
Broadway Town Council member Chad Comer addressed the rumored misuse of funds during an interview with Rocktown Now. He stated that there have never been any missing funds from the town and that people need to stop believing everything they see on social media.
Longtime Town Manager Kyle O’Brien retired earlier this spring and deputy town manager Cari Orebaugh as well as interim town manager Bob Holton both left their positions last month.
Stefanie McAlister, who was the town manager for Grottoes, was appointed town manager for Broadway and she will start on July 1.
