FOREST, Va. (BC Athletics) – Jazmyne Smith, Delaney Lail and Jordan Wise were named to the ODAC all-conference softball lists announced by the league office this afternoon.

Lail highlights the three BC selections with a spot on the first spot and being named the ODAC Rookie of the Year. Smith also landed a spot on the first team at the first base spot, while Wise was named to the third team in a utility role.

The rookie, Lail, earns a spot on the first team at the designated player spot after starting all 43 games for the Eagles offensively. Lail ranked second on the Eagles in batting average, hits, doubles, home runs, slugging and on-base percentage while leading BC with 19 RBI and drawing a team-high 15 walks. Aside from her performance at the plate, Lail also was the Eagles’ top pitcher after coming into form during the back-half of the season highlighted by a pair of double-digit strikeout performances.

Smith adds another All-ODAC accolade to her ledger and her initial First Team honor. The senior started all but two games and took an at bat in every contest on the schedule. Smith led the team in just about every offensive category and was among the ODAC leaders in slugging, home runs, batting average and led the league in total bases with 97. The Eagles everyday first baseman tallied her 100th career hit earlier this season and inserted herself into the top 10 in program history in home runs with 19 in her career.

Wise earns her first all-conference accolade, landing on the All-ODAC Third Team. Wise saw her role shift throughout the season as she transitioned into the leadoff role offensively and shifted from right field to second base during the second half of the ODAC Schedule. The sophomore’s stats may not jump off the page, but Wise ranked third on the team in hits with 35. Wise stepped up when called upon as she ranked third in the ODAC in sacrifice hits to fuel the nations 16th-best small ball offensive in all of Division III.

BC puts multiple players on the first team for the first time since 2011. Lail also becomes the third ODAC Rookie of the Year in the history of the program and the first since Kaitlyn Bowman in 2006.

Bridgewater finished the 2024 season with a 19-24 record including an 11-11 mark in conference play on the way to the No. 5 seed in the ODAC Tournament.
