WINCHESTER, Va. (BC Athletics) – The Bridgewater College men’s basketball team concluded its season with a 82-67 loss to Shenandoah on the road on Saturday.

Records: Bridgewater 8-17; Shenandoah 10-15

How It Happened
• Shenandoah jumped on the board first with a make from deep, but Jordan Cooper got the Eagles on the board after a second chance effort. Shenandoah responded in a big way with a 12-0 run that saw BC go scoreless for over three minutes. BC replied with a Kyren Smith three-point make to make it 15-5, but then both teams went dry for nearly two minutes.
• The Hornets kept rolling with a 15-3 run that followed the dry spell to open up to a 30-8 edge with 8:47 to play in the half. A RK Law three-pointer ended the run momentarily before both sides traded makes. SU followed with another massive scoring spree as a 10-2 run stretched the lead to 42-15 with 44 seconds to play in the half. A Will Vetter long ball to end the stanza made it 42-18 after 20 minutes.
• SU started the second half with a four-point play, but a Law three-pointer in response evened the momentum. Shenandoah stretched the lead to 31 points thanks to a 9-3 run that made it 55-24 with 16:24 to play. SU led by as much as 35 with 13:13 to play, but then the Eagles flipped the switch. A Maleek Richardson three-pointer sparked an 11-0 Bridgewater run with five points from Richardson and four from Woody Machado to make it 63-39 with 10:40 to play.
• Both sides traded three-pointers until the Hornets stretched the lead to back over 30 points with 5:59 to play, but the Eagles did not give up. BC got rolling with five points from Will Dunlap and turned that into a 22-6 run over the final five minutes led by eight points from Dunlap, six from law, five from Oates and Jay Simpson’s first points in crimson & gold.

Notes
• Law led BC with 15 points as all of his points came from five makes from beyond the arc. Dunlap tallied 14 points as the only other Bridgewater player in double figures. Joseph Crenshaw tallied four assists as 10 different Eagles scored in the contest.
• Dorian Davis led Shenandoah with 28 points highlighted by 6 makes from deep.
• SU shot 48.4% on the day, but a massive 55.2% clip during the first half compared to just 24.1% for BC made the difference.
