How It Happened

• The home team had an opportunity to strike under a minute into the second frame, but a pair of saves by Nau kept the game scoreless. Gettysburg finally broke through three minutes into the quarter as a centering feed led to a back-door tap-in at the post just beyond the reach of Nau to make it 1-0 for the home team. The Bullets kept pressing, but three saves by Nai kept it at a one-goal difference. BC earned a penalty corner with two minutes to go in the stanza, but the pass into the zone skipped past its target and allowed Gettysburg to clear and take a 1-0 lead into the half.
• Madalyn Miller stepped into the crease and was tested early as she made three saves in the opening three minutes of the third quarter to keep the Eagles within striking distance. Both teams traded possessions throughout the third frame, but the Bullets had the last opportunity with a corner as time expired in the frame. The BC defense shrugged off the chance to keep it a one-goal differential, heading into the final frame.
