Oletha Spitzer Lotts, 100, of Harrisonburg, passed away on Saturday May 4, 2024, at Sunnyside Presbyterian Home, after a brief stay. She was born September 16, 1923, in Rockingham County and was the daughter of the late Ernest M. and Palma I. Spitzer. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph and Howard Spitzer, first husband and father of her three children, Robert H. Perry, II, second husband, Charles Ralph Lotts, and her beloved son, Robert H. Perry, III.

Oletha graduated from Keezletown High School and attended Elon College, NC. She loved basketball and played on the Keezletown High School 1941 Rockingham County Basketball Championship team. She was employed for 40 plus years at F.W. Woolworths as a Department Manager and as Manager of their lunch counter and soda fountain.

She loved to travel. Israel was her favorite trip because she was baptized in the Jordan River. She grew up in New Hope Christian Church and in 1999 became a member of Harrisonburg Nazarene Church where she served as greeter, money counter, visitation team and member of The Joy Group. She attended Women’s Bible Fellowship for many years and loved studying the Bible with friends. She reflected her love for the Lord by loving people and was a beloved friend by many.

She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn A. Dean (Wayne) and Sandra L. Perry, who served as her dedicated and loving caretaker the last eight years of her life. Survived also by daughter-in-law, Maggi Perry; grandchildren, Kirby Dean (Regina), Scott, Robert IV, and Christopher Perry and Shana Beime; great-grandchildren; Maycee Dean, Stella and Madison Perry plus nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Harrisonburg First Church of the Nazarene on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at 1 p.m., with Pastor Jim Harrison and Joe Stoner officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Burial will be private.
