AUGUSTA COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Staunton-Augusta-Waynesboro Region plans to conduct area coverage testing to support upgrades to a new P-25 Digital Trunked radio system used for emergency broadcasting.
Beginning Monday, September 8 and continuing through September 26th, vehicles will be driving through communities measuring and verifying the strength and quality of radio signals as part of a process to ensure reliable and efficient communication for public safety purposes.
Residents are asked to not be alarmed by the unmarked vehicles as they will be seen stopping along roadways for short periods of time before moving on.
Call your local dispatch center’s non-emergency line with any concerns regarding testing.
