AUGUSTA COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — This morning at approximately 9:04 AM, the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office responded to 207 Laurel Hill Rd, Daikin Corporation for a citizen requesting assistance.

According to a release, the initial investigation was that an employee made concerning statements to another employee about threatening violence toward the Daiken plant. The Daikin plant was placed on lockdown by management.

Upon further investigation, it was determined that there was no direct threat made towards the company or any employee at Daikin.

There were reports on social media that this was an active shooter incident, and that was reported to not be true. There was never an active shooter nor an active threat at the plant.
