AUGUSTA COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — Over this past weekend, August 15-17, the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) reported that the Teaverton area subdivision in Fishersville was targeted by multiple vehicle break-ins, and personal items stolen from their vehicles.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking residents in this area to check their vehicles for missing or stolen items. If you were a victim of a vehicle break-in, contact the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office to file a police report 540-245-5333.

Also, if you have cameras on your property that you can view and possibly get footage of a possible suspect or a vehicle, contact the ACSO. The Sheriff’s Office is requesting that footage should be reviewed from August 15 starting at 9:00 PM and ending Monday morning at 8:00 AM.

The ACSO is reminding the public to lock their vehicles, and do not leave anything of value in the vehicles. If suspicious activity is seen, people are encouraged to report it.

Some tips for safety: Install cameras, and motion detection lights. Always lock vehicles, and outbuildings. Do not leave anything of value in your vehicle or in plain sight.
