STUARTS DRAFT, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – The Augusta County Sheriff’s Office has arrested the suspect believed to be connected with a reported shooting in Stuarts Draft.

In an email to Rocktown Now, Lieutenant Leslie Snyder announced shortly after 3:30 p.m. that officers arrested Raymond Gregory Allen, 35, of Stuarts Draft. Authorities were searching for Allen in the Wilda Lane area on Wednesday.

An alert sent to residents in the area earlier in the day said that Allen was intoxicated and possibly carrying an AR-style firearm. However, Snyder said in a release that Wednesday’s incident was NOT an active shooter situation.
