AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – Augusta County officials continue to collect items to help the victims of Hurricane Helene in Southwest Virginia and North Carolina.
County Administrator Tim Fitzgerald reported that two tractor-trailers of much needed items have already been delivered to those areas that were impacted.
A third and last truck is expected to leave early next week and officials are asking for blankets, coats, laundry detergent, propane heaters, generators and square shovels.
The items need to be dropped off by Saturday at the Government Center in Verona.
