WAYNESBORO, VA (Rocktown Now) – Arrest warrants have been issued for two local men involved in an altercation involving multiple people in Waynesboro that included an assault with a baseball bat.

On Saturday, December 20th, Police Captain Benjamin Lemons reports that officers were dispatched to the 500 block of North Augusta Avenue and found two victims suffering from injuries allegedly sustained during the incident.

Officers were advised that two male suspects, 20-year-old Jacob Bryan of Augusta County and 43-year-old James Parker of Waynesboro, had fled the scene in a vehicle prior to the Officer’s arrival.

During the investigation, officers learned that the incident allegedly stemmed from a prior altercation in which Bryan and Parker reportedly assaulted a 47-year-old man also from Waynesboro.

As a result, warrants were issued for the suspects on charges of Unlawful Wounding and Simple Assault.

Bryan was taken into custody in Augusta County and, according to online records, is scheduled to appear in General District Court February 24th.

Meanwhile, warrants for Parker are still pending service.
