Arlene Estep Bare, 94, of Broadway, VA passed away September 26,2024 at Timberview Crossing in Timberville.

She was born September 2, 1930 in Harrisonburg to the late Kenneth and Blanche May Estep.

Arlene had worked at H.D. Lee, Lowes, Walmart, Merillat, and John C. Myers cafeteria.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Timberville, where she sang in the choir.  She was a member of Chimney Rock Ladies Auxiliary.

On August 20, 1949 she married Eugene “Bruiser” Bare, who preceded her in death July 2, 2016.

Surviving are three sons, Eugene F. Bare and wife Debbie of Belmont, Ohio, Gregory Scott Bare and wife Betty of Broadway, Keith “Babe” Bare and wife Shay of Granby, Colorado; two grandsons, Eugene F. Bare (Shelly) of Broadway, Christopher Bare (Sara) of Bridgewater; three granddaughters, Gina Neese (Reagan) of Rockingham, Abby Wampler (Zack) of Port Republic, Autumn Barnette (Hunter) of Dayton; great grandchildren, Nick Bare, Hannah Bare, Burke Wampler, Charlie Beth Wampler, Corabelle Barnett, Sawyer Barnette, Macy Neese, JoElla Bare, Aviya Bare; two nieces, Sharon Lynn McCafferty, Gina Hitch.

Arlene was preceded in death by one brother, Leonard Estep; and one stepsister, Mildred Lindamood.

Rev Steve Proctor will conduct a memorial service at 1:00 PM Monday at Grandle Funeral Home Chapel in Broadway.  Burial at Whitmer Cemetery in Fulks Run will be private.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service at Grandle Funeral Home.

Her body was cremated.
