Anthony “Tony” “Punk” Runion, 68, a resident of Broadway, peacefully passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2028 at his home.
Mr. Runion was born on January 6, 1956 in Rockingham County and was a son of Audrey Custer Fitzwater of Broadway and the late Walter Runion. Anthony was a people person known for his ability to make the whole room laugh with his signature grin. He was known for his exceptional drywall and construction talent. He loved to hunt, fish, and most importantly, drinking coffee. He loved his family and was known lovingly as “Pap Runion” to his grandchildren.
Surviving are his children, Clint A. Runion and wife Heather along with their children, Kingston and Creed, Wesley S. Runion and wife Brooke along with their children, Reese and Charlotte, Anthony Lynn White Jr. and Josh of West Virginia, Walter A. Runion and his son, Evan of Broadway; siblings, Connie Dellinger and husband Wayne of Broadway, Pete Runion and wife Mary of Broadway, Lucy Britton and late husband Roger of Broadway; and his beloved dog “Buster”.
In addition to his father, Anthony was preceded in death by a daughter, Mandy Runion; and brother, Dale Runion.
Following cremation, a visitation will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2024 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at McMullen Funeral Home. A private interment will be held at Bethesda Mennonite Cemetery.
