HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) —  Anicira has been awarded a $25,000 grant from the ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) to support Anicira’s Pit Fix program in Harrisonburg and Manassas. This funding will provide 350 free spay/neuter surgeries for qualifying Pit Bulls and Pit Bull mixes, helping reduce unwanted litters and expand access to essential veterinary care for local families.

According to a release, the grant will support expenses associated with spay/neuter surgeries, including pre-operative exams, the procedures themselves, and post-operative care. Vaccines and microchipping may be added at the time of surgery for an additional cost. Free spay/neuter surgeries are available by appointment at Anicira’s Harrisonburg and Manassas veterinary hospitals through the end of the year or until all grant funds are allocated. Eligible pet families must reside in Harrisonburg, Rockingham County, Manassas, Manassas Park, or Prince William County.
