WAYNESBORO, VA (Rocktown Now) – Waynesboro Public Schools is proud to announce the appointment of Heather Craddock as Assistant Principal of Waynesboro High School, effective Monday, October 20th. This appointment reflects the division’s continued commitment to cultivating leadership excellence and fostering a supportive, inclusive learning environment.

Mrs. Craddock brings over twenty-five years of experience in education and administration. She currently serves as Assistant Principal at Westwood Hills Elementary School, where she has focused on school safety, restorative practices, and staff retention. Prior to that, she served as Assistant Principal at South River Elementary School and as a Special Education Teacher and Team Leader at Montevideo Middle School in Rockingham County, Virginia. Her career began as a Special Education Teacher and Department Chair at Sherando High School.

A veteran of the United States Army, Mrs. Craddock is known for her dedication, dependability, and collaborative leadership style. Her colleagues describe her as a leader who “builds strong relationships, communicates openly, and works tirelessly to create positive school climates where students and staff can thrive.”

Mrs. Craddock earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Western Kentucky University, a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Technology from the University of Phoenix, an Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Liberty University, and an Administration and Supervision Certification from James Madison University. She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership at Liberty University, with an expected completion in 2026.

Superintendent Dr. Jeffrey Cassell expressed his enthusiasm for the appointment. “Heather’s experience as both an administrator and educator reflects a deep commitment to student success and staff support. Her leadership, compassion, and consistency will serve Waynesboro High School well as she joins Principal Bryan Stamm and Assistant Principals Megan Fitzgerald and Joshua Herndon in leading the school community.”
