WOODSTOCK, Va – A Woodstock man is in custody on a slew of larceny charges.

Shenandoah County Sheriff Tim Carter reported this morning in a post on the department’s Facebook page that on October 11th, authorities executed a search warrant at a home in the 400 block of Boyd Street in Woodstock.

That search led to the recovery of stolen items, related to several recent larcenies.

A suspect was then identified as 52-year-old Herman Elliot Degolyer. He was arrested Wednesday on 11 counts, including six for larceny.

Carter added that Degolyer faces more charges stemming from nearly two dozen other larcenies in the county as well as in Woodstock and in Mount Jackson.

He is currently being held on a 15-hundred secured bond and he has arraignment hearing next Friday in General District Court.
