FISHERSVILLE, Va – Wilson Memorial High School was placed on a brief lockdown Thursday morning after a report surfaced that a student was a possible suspect in the burglary of a firearm that occurred in the Crimora area.
Sheriff Donald Smith reported that authorities received a call at around 9:30 for a medial issue involving a juvenile in the Stuarts Draft area.
Sheriff Smith stated in a news release that during the incident, deputies determined that the juvenile, along with the Wilson Memorial student, were involved in that burglary.
Deputies then went to the school in Fisherville and interviewed the student.
Smith reported that charges are pending on both juveniles.
He added that the firearm was not on school property and at no time was the school or the public in any immediate danger.
