RICHMOND, Va – The Virginia Lottery has released its report on sports wagering activity submitted by licensed operators for September.
Virginians wagered over 520 million dollars during the month, which was over 26 percent higher than the previous September.
Virginia bettors won more than 466 million dollars for a combined 10.4 percent operators win percentage.
State law places a 15 percent tax on sports betting activity based on each permit holder’s adjusted gross revenue.
That means over seven million dollars in tax payments were generated for the month, of which over 176-thousand dollars will go to the Problem Gambling Treatment and Support Fund.
