Commonwealth attorney general Jason Miyares has announced the creation of an Antisemitism Task Force under his purview.
That revelation came yesterday as the A-G addressed Jewish leaders on Virginia’s Jewish Advocacy Day. Miyares said the creation of the force is a direct response to the Governor’s Commission to Combat Antisemitism.
The agency said in December that a task force such as this would pay dividends across the state. He said the goal of the force is to “monitor, combat and educate Virginians” about antisemitic hate.
Anti-Jewish incidents of hate jumped 71 percent from 2020 to 2021.
