After years of pandemic-related turmoil, Virginia’s latest unemployment numbers show that the state’s workforce continues to stabilize.

According to the Virginia Unemployment Commission, new February jobless claims held steady at 1-thousand-385. That’s a drop of just over 200 new claims from January. V-E-C continues to process nearly 12-thousand ongoing claims.

Augusta County is the only Shenandoah Valley location reporting over 100 unemployment claims last month.

The commission added that Administrative Support and Waste Management industries lost the most positions.
