HARRISONBURG, Va – As expected, turnout was low in the valley for Super Tuesday in Virginia.

Rockingham County Voter Registrar Lisa Gooden and Harrisonburg Voter Mark Finks both reported light voter turnout.

Gooden added that one issue that voters were having is that they were voting at the registrar’s office and not at their polling location.

During the 45-day early voting period, voters are asked to cast their ballot at the voter registrar’s office. However, on election day, voters need to cast ballots at their regular polling location.

Virginia was one of 16 states participating in the Super Tuesday Presidential Primary.
