STAUNTON, Va – The Staunton Police Department is hiring officers.

In a post on the department’s social media pages, the starting salary is 47-thousand dollars a year as well as college degree incentive pay.

Among the benefits included, officers will receive health, dental, vision and life insurance and health insurance is also paid after retirement.

There is a take home patrol car program for city residents as well as a discounted gym membership.
