The City of Staunton is adding a new face to its leadership chart.

In a press release yesterday, the city announced Amanda Kaufman has joined the ranks as Assistant City Manager, closing a 13-month hiring process for the job. She comes to Staunton from her most recent position as Deputy Bedford County Administrator, a title she held for over three years.

Kaufman holds a master’s degree from U-N-C Chapel Hill in public administration. She’ll work directly underneath city manager Leslie Beauregard, who said Kaufman’s “wealth of experience” is “invaluable.”

She’ll take over the role beginning next Tuesday.
