RICHMOND, Va – (WSVA) – The Virginia Lottery released its report on sports wagering activity for November.

During the month, Virginians wagered nearly 639 million dollars, which was over 23 percent more than last November. Bettors won nearly 596 million.

State law places a 15 percent tax on sports betting activity based on each permit holder’s adjusted gross revenue.

That means nearly five and a half million dollars in taxes were generated for the commonwealth with more than 137-thousand of that earmarked for the Problem Gambling Treatment and Support Fund.
