One of this year’s Special Olympics Polar Plunges set a new high-mark for future events to compete against.
According to Special Olympics Virginia, The Virginia Beach Polar Plunge this weekend raised over one-and-a-half million dollars for the organization – an all-time fundraising record for an S-O-V event.
Marketing director Sean Wallach said nearly 27-hundred people braved the chilly waters this year. This plunger told a Norfolk T-V station that the Polar Plunge is aptly named.
This is reportedly the 12th Plunge to raise over a million dollars for the state’s Special Olympics chapter.
